one off weblinks

Ok this might not actually be one off but just so not to falsely give hope, i'll call it this for now.

Avril Lavigne she hasn't been around for a while now, but i recently found that she has a new song: Girlfriend, which i dont think is as good as her older songs, yes i admit that i have her album, this song is too pop and not enough of the rock/punk that she had before. It has an interesting video with Avril play several of the characters, I have to say that i was surprised how well she suited all the characters. However The reason i mention Avril is for a totally different video: Here. Be warned its a bit wrong.

Something else that is also a little wrong is maddox.xmission.com this guy thinks that he is the greatest person and is never wrong. Personally i disagree, however his ideas, writings and drawings are great. I like his FAQ's and his attack at Mac users.

While i have been browsing recently i have been looking more at Mac websites, no surprise seeing as i got one for Christmas. One of the things that i wanted to try to get running on my Mac was windows. Why? Well I have always loved my pc, and i dont want to let it go, there are programs that only run on XP and not OSX. So i have been trying out Parallels which creates a virtual machine in OSX that you can install and run XP without the need of rebooting. Great i thought, I went though the setup and everything and got windows running! Then i found, why i dont like windows that much, it wanted to install updates and required antivirus software.... So install of of these. Then i think I know what i'll install, Warning Forever a free classic style spaceship game. I install this, but as i run the game a warning comes up, basically saying you cant run this as you dont have a 3d graphics card. Damit! I should have read the release notes, it clearly says that there is no support for 3d graphics yet.

So i look again. I find that there is another program called VMWare who have just released virtual machine software with experimental 3d. If install this, then install Windows XP. It runs. I install, the updates, virus scanned and my game and again it wont run, no graphics card. I read the release notes, it says experimental 3d support, i spend 30minutes being very confused. i then find that you have to install drivers from VMWare to get the 3d support, upon installing these I can finally get to play my game! Yay.

Future plans are to try out dual boot, (not sure whether to try Vista. I'll probably stick with Xp for the time being) Then i want to move onto new OS. Linux is doing some funky things and i want to give them a go: Link. This could be better than XP and OSX!

Sticking on the Tech front, Photoshop CS3 is released on the 27th March, and I cant wait as it is a universal binary, thus it will run faster on my mac than CS2 which i have at present. There is a trial here, i'm yet to test it as my Mac is busy rendering out work, but once thats done i'll be firing CS3 up. Oh, I forgot to mention that the new PS has to versions, regular and extended. Extended will have 3d features incorporated.

I am also looking forward to the iPhone from Apple. It has, from what i have read, loads of interesting features. The multi-touch screen is what i like. Click the Link above to read more. Also Apple has just released iTunes 7.1 which now has a full screen mode for the album browser. This might not sound like much, but the amount of time it took me to find all the graphics for my library i'm just glad to see them getting use.

Now that I have written way more than i was planning on i'll jut list some interesting links:
